Based on Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) approved guidelines. Refer to NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide available at https://fcr-ccc.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/en for more information. Full battery charge and ideal conditions are required. Figures will vary based, amongst others and non-exclusively, on driving and charging habits, speed, accessory use, weather and temperature, battery age, vehicle condition, road condition and other factors. In sub ideal conditions, figures may worsen by more than 50%. Battery capacity decreases with time and use which will further reduce range. See the owner’s manual or NRCan’s Fuel Consumption Guide for details.

The Subaru Mobility Assist Program

The Subaru Mobility Assist program provides reimbursement of up to $750 (Rebate amount includes GST/HST/QST as applicable) for vehicle adaptation devices installed by a facility accredited by the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association.

Common items considered applicable adaptations that qualify for reimbursement under the Subaru Mobility Assist program include, but are not limited to:

  • Hand and foot controls
  • Left-hand gear shifter
  • Pedal extensions
  • Servo-assisted controls
  • Steering devices
  • Turn-signal modifications

The Subaru Mobility Assist program provides reimbursement of up to $750 (Rebate amount includes GST/HST/QST as applicable) for vehicle adaptation devices installed by a facility accredited by the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association.

To find an installation facility in your area, please contact the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association Canada (NMEDA CANADA) at 1-866-948-8341.

To receive reimbursement through the Subaru Mobility Assist program, please downloadOpens in new window a reimbursement form and submit it to Subaru Canada along with the following:

  • Copies of Vehicle lease/purchase documents
  • A printed invoice from the NMEDA accredited installation facility indicating the following:
    • The adaptations performed
    • The VIN number of the vehicle
    • Proof of payment

Once you have gathered all the documents, please submit your reimbursement claim form to Subaru Canada, Inc.

Program Qualifying Criteria:

Program Qualifying Criteria

  • Only the original vehicle owner is eligible for reimbursement.
  • Adaptations must be completed for the original owner or his/her immediate family.
  • Only applies to new Subaru vehicles retailed or leased in Canada from an authorized Subaru dealership.
  • Only one reimbursement request is permitted per vehicle.
  • Lease-vehicle adaptations may be subject to written lessor approval. The customer is responsible for determining and satisfying lease-contract requirements.
  • Requires that adaptations are completed within 1 year of vehicle purchase or lease.
  • The written reimbursement form is received within 6 months of the adaptive equipment installation.
  • A properly completed reimbursement form must be submitted to Subaru Canada, Inc., along with the necessary supporting documentation indicated on the reimbursement form.

  • The selection of an equipment manufacturer and installation facility is solely the customer’s responsibility (Subaru Canada does not endorse any company or supplier involved in adaptive equipment.)
  • Subaru Canada, Inc. does not warrant or accept responsibility for the installation of adaptive equipment or modifications.
  • If you wish to perform adaptations to a leased vehicle, please speak directly with the leasing company before completing any changes to the vehicle. The leasing company may require you to return the vehicle to its original state before lease termination/end of the contract. Subaru bears no responsibility for any costs associated with this.
  • Subaru Canada, Inc. reserves the right to deny reimbursement for modifications or installation of adaptive equipment that may affect the operation of factory installed safety devices, such as seat belts or airbags.
